The T-18 is a high-performance water filtration system designed to reduce a wide range of contaminants (per the TipaTech T-18 manual and product literature):

• Hardness / Scale – engineered to help reduce up to ~99% of limescale formation inside pipes and tanks (~50% on external surfaces; up to ~99% both inside & outside with the optional Omega Extension; varies by water hardness)
• Cyst-sized particulates – engineered to help reduce particulates commonly associated with organisms such as Giardia
• Microplastic fibers – engineered to help trap microplastic fibers
• Arsenic-related compounds – supports adsorption of certain arsenic-related compounds and medications/pharmaceutical residues (subject to influent water quality)

Per TipaTech: do not use the T-18 on hot-water lines or with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown origin without adequate disinfection. Performance varies by source water quality and operating conditions.

That means no added utility costs and a smaller environmental footprint compared with systems that discharge water during operation. Actual savings depend on installation and operating conditions.

The Arsenic Extension + Seal ($199) is a source-specific add-on for the T-18, designed to help reduce arsenic-related compounds and certain radioactive-element compounds (uranium- and thorium-related) per TipaTech literature.

The T-18 already includes ceramic adsorption media in its standard 8-stage architecture that helps reduce arsenic-related compounds. The Arsenic Extension is recommended specifically for homes with:

• Documented well-water or municipal arsenic exceedances above EPA limits (10 ppb) or EWG health-based guidelines
• EWG Tap Water Database reports showing arsenic, or private wells in sandy or volcanic-bearing soil
• Documented radiological concerns (uranium-related or thorium-related compounds)

• Arsenic Extension + Seal – Source-specific media designed to help reduce arsenic-related compounds and certain radioactive-element compounds (uranium- and thorium-related). Choose it when your water report documents arsenic or radiological exceedances.

Quick rule: Omega is the performance upgrade for hard-water homes; Arsenic Extension is targeted treatment for documented contaminants. They are separate products and can be ordered together if your situation calls for both.
